DRAFT — NOT YET REVIEWED BY A LAWYER
This document is a starting point drafted to cover the obvious ground. It is not legal advice and it has not been reviewed by a qualified adviser. Have a solicitor check it against how EasyRetale actually operates before relying on it, and delete this notice once they have.
Cookie policy
Last updated 21 July 2026
The short version
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies and browser storage items to sign you in and keep the app working. Nothing optional is set unless you accept it, and you can change your mind at any time.
What we set
| Name | Type | Purpose | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session / refresh token | Essential | Keeps you signed in between visits. | 7 days |
| er:consent | Essential | Remembers your cookie choice so we stop asking. | 12 months |
| er:savedEmail | Essential | Pre-fills your email on the sign-in form, only if you ask it to. | Until cleared |
| er:terminalId | Essential | Remembers which till a device is, so staff need not pick it each shift. | Until cleared |
| Analytics | Optional | Aggregate usage — which features are used, where people get stuck. | Only if accepted |
Strictly necessary means what it says
The essential items above cannot be switched off, because without them you cannot sign in or stay signed in. Under the ePrivacy rules these require no consent — but we list them anyway, because “necessary” is a claim you are entitled to check.
Do Not Track
If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal of optional cookies. We record your choice as essential-only and do not show you the banner.
Changing your mind
Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. This reopens the banner and clears your saved choice:
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the essential ones will stop you being able to sign in.
Shops running on EasyRetale
A retailer’s own shop page has its own cookie notice, because that business — not EasyRetale — decides what it sets there. See that shop’s privacy notice for detail.
